The Merchant Registry of the
Verace Pizza Napoletana

The Merchant Registry of the Verace Pizza Napoletana,
organized and promoted by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana
(AVPN), represents a tool having the
aim to give a service to all the members of the Association, in the process
of obtaining ingredients and non-food products, related to the production
chain of the “true Neapolitan pizza”.
HOW TO BECOME AN OFFICIAL SUPPLIER
The Companies having the following requirements may apply for enrollment,
in the way and in the form specified in the regulation of the Register:
1. Companies producing one or more of the following ingredients and
equipment:
- Flour (soft wheat flour)
- Fresh tomatoes (“S. Marzano dell’Agro Sarnese-nocerino”, Corbara’s
tomatoes (“Corbarino”), DOP tomatoes Piennolo of Vesuvius;
- Peeled tomatoes (peeled tomatoes “S. Marzano dell’Agro Sarnese-Nocerino”
DOP, fresh tomatoes or industrial tomato for peeled tomatoes of the
"long-shaped tomato Roma type tomato "; Corbara’s tomato (“Corbarino”);
- mozzarella: Buffalo mozzarella of Campania DOP, mozzarella
STG;
- Fior di latte (Southern Apennines’s fiordilatte DOP or other certificated
fiordilatte.
- Extra-virgin olive oil.
- Ingredients used for Neapolitan pizza toppings
- Ovens
- Dough mixers
- Workbenches
- Accessories and tools
- Other equipment and innovative technologies.
2. Companies that are in possession
of the following administrative requirements:
- local Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Handicrafts
membership or a similar document in the country where the Company is
located.
- certification and /or appropriate documentation that allow traceability of
the product (in order to locate and identify all the production / processing
steps of the product itself)
- certifications and / or documentation issued by the competent authorities
to certify the approval of the product as a DOP,
STG
or typical product (if required);
- certification and /or appropriate documentation showing the successful
application of a self-control and food hygiene system (HACCP - Hazard
analysis and critical control points) in all the steps of the production and
distribution cycle;
- compliance with the legislation governing the products sale, sanitation,
safe working place, social security contributions.
3. Products meeting the quality
standards set by the Department of Food Science of the
Naples
University
"Federico II”.
The Department of Food Science, after reviewing products and certifications,
will issue an advisory opinion.
Those companies that, at the discretion of the AVPN and following the audit
made by the Department of Food Science or by a technician entrusted by the
Association, comply with the requirements listed above and to the
characteristics described in the International Regulations to obtain the
international collective brand mark “True Neapolitan Pizza” ("Verace Pizza
Napoletana") owned by the AVPN, will be enrolled in the Register of the
Official Suppliers of the Verace Pizza Napoletana.
After the registration, the Company is allowed to use - as specified in the
regulation of the Register - the logo "Official Supplier of the True
Neapolitan Pizza” (“Fornitore ufficiale della Verace Pizza Napoletana”),
owned by the AVPN.
The logo and the list of the members of the Register of the Suppliers will
be promoted by the AVPN through all its marketing activities and
communication (promotion, events, publications, media relations, etc..) both
in
Italy
and abroad.
In order to cover all the expenses for all the promotional activities,
AVPN will require from the Companies
a participation fee. The amount, calculated by AVPN, will take into
consideration many factors included the size, the geographical area, the
sector of activities, and the market presence of the Company applying for
the registration.
The Register of the Official Suppliers of the Verace Pizza Napoletana is
valid internationally.
